South of the Border, Ensenada & Punta Banda!
After about 5 or more days (starting to lose track of time) with Ron and Anneke, we headed down into Ensenada to visit friends who live in that area. It was a great visit, catching up on the past years and getting their take on our moving to Mexico, suggestions, thoughts, etc.
They hooked us up with friends of theirs (Mexican nationals) who have traveled extensively in Mexico, and the recommendations were that we should take some time to explore Mazatlan. Up to this time Mazatlan was on our list as a one-night stop and leave, ha!
Rory and Rachel invited us out to stay with them at their place on Punta Banda Beach as well. Its a fabulous small community on an awesome beach, what more can you want! They took us around the area, hit up some of the local fine dining taco stands, always a hit. We spent a Sunday hanging out at one of their friends' house where musicians gather twice a month to jam, very talented musicians, great people, great music, food and fun. It was very tempting to want to just find a nice rental in the area and stay for much longer.
And no trip to Ensenada is complete without a swing through La Bufadora! (a marine geyser or blowhole located on the Punta Banda Peninsula).
